In memory of Stan 'Solly' Solomon
Pirates have been soaring in the pole vault for decades. But it was coach Stan Solomon who made sailing home with a pole vault medal or two an almost annual event. Marshfield has had nine pole vault champions since 1999.
Coach Solomon was inducted into the Marshfield Hall of Fame in 2007. Solly was inducted into the Willamette University Hall of Fame for his football prowess in 1992.
